Will the World End in 2012?

I’m amazed by how many people actually think the world will end in 2012. Of course I have no way of disproving the world won’t end in 2012, but I don’t need to either. Since the day I was born I heard the world would end. The last time I can remember was when the world was supposed to end in 2000. There was that whole Y2K thing that never materialized, and as the new year came to pass life progressed the way it always has. But wait, people are saying that the world will REALLY end in 2012. Look out! They’ve actually never said that before! NOT!!!

You see the more serious they are about the world ending, the least seriously I am inclined to take them. This is because on all the previous occasions they were just as serious. Yes but there are tons of reasons for the world to end this time they say. First of all because the Mayans said so. The Mayan calender ends in 2012, and automatically people assume that means the end of the world. Lol! Then there are countless other reasons that the world will end, including nuclear war, alien invasion, asteroid impact, solar flares, biological warfare, volcanoes, because the book of revelation says so, blah blah blah, yada yada yada.

These kind of predictions that I’ve heard since I entered this world makes me wonder if people actually want the world to end. What does it say about a person that is continually obsessed with what will happen in the future? It says that they are not satisfied with the now. And I guess if you look at the bad in the world that is almost to be expected. Yet anyone who truly lives in the present knows that it is satisfactory. The problem is not whether the world will end or not, but that people make such a big deal of it. No one really knows the future, and even if they did it makes no sense to live in the future. In fact that’s not even possible.

It’s impossible to live outside of the present, so you might as well make the best of it. Even if you knew the world would end in 2012, how much sense would it make to keep thinking and talking about it as if it was the only thing that mattered? You still have to live life until then. Another thing that people have to realize is that thoughts and expectations have creative power. If the whole world truly believed the world would end in 2012 then it would. But thank God not everyone believes in that crap, or else we would truly be doomed.

I don’t know about you but I don’t want the world to end. I have the best part of my life ahead of me, and I intend to make the best of it. How much sense would it make for me to fret over the future or to create doomsday scenarios with my thoughts? None at all. But since thoughts are creative, why don’t we project something beautiful into the future? Why not believe that in 2012 the world will change for the better? In fact that is probably what will happen. Mankind have been through some trying times and maybe 2012 is when the scales will finally start tipping in our favor.

Maybe it will be a time of heightened consciousness, a time when a critical mass of people will gain a higher state of consciousness which will change things for the better. I have actually heard about this possibility many times as well. As humans we have God potential and our creative abilities are unlimited. There is no challenge which we can’t overcome and there is no limit to the beauty we can create. Why not focus on that, why not focus on things changing for the better instead of creating all these doomsday theories and negative thoughts?

It’s time for us as a human race to realize that we are responsible for the future of this planet, no one else. It’s time for us to stop making excuses and take our destiny firmly into our own hands.

It’s time to awaken to our own divine nature.
