Why Spirituality is the Easiest(and the Most Difficult) Path

We all want to become happier people, and in order to do so we must ask the big questions – Where did I come from? What am I doing here? Where do I go when I die? As far as I know there are three basic ways to get answers to these very important questions. They are through science, religion, and spirituality. People who use science as a basis for answering these questions think it is the best way because they think material reality is the basis for all existence. Yet science itself has proven that material reality has no provable existence itself!

At the sub-atomic level all matter turns into nothing but energy. Atoms itself are 99.999% empty space, and all material things are made up out of atoms vibrating at incredible speeds. Then you have quantum physics, which says that an atom only exists once it is measured. Before it is measured or observed it exists only as a possibility wave. Science have been working at a theory for everything for some time now, but it is proving as illusive as ever. It looks more and more likely that science will never find the answer, because the observer and the observed are not separate.

In other words there is no meaning out there save the meaning we give it. And I don’t know if science is ready to accept this fact, because that would mean that consciousness is primary. And science believes in a random universe with no meaning. There are scientists who believe in an intelligent universe, but their views are being rejected by main stream science as spiritual mumbo jumbo. So although great strides are being taken in science, it appears that hard core scientists will never see the light, because they reject the possibility that we could live in a conscious universe.

Next there is religion. Religion in a lot of ways is the opposite of science. Where science wants hard proof, religion thinks that blind faith is the most important thing. For instance, Christian fundamentalists have no problem believing that the Bible is 100% fact, despite the fact that it was  written thousands of years ago, not to mention that we have no way of knowing whether it was completely accurate since it was written by men. Many of the things in the Bible was told over and then written down way after events happened, and there is no way it is all going to 100% accurate.

Also men have their own agendas and it is highly likely that early Christians changed things from the way they actually happened in order to start a new religion. Also, the church interpret the Bible in whatever way suits them. If you are religious you are going to have to accept the fact that you believe in some things purely because other people do, whether you like it or not. In this way religion is flawed, since you don’t get your information directly from the Source or someone close to it, but from people who you don’t know who started a movement around a certain person a long time before you were alive.

In this way the message from Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, and other enlightened souls became diluted. Personally I take great inspiration from these individuals, but only after stripped from all the religious doctrine surrounding them. The thing about religion is that it has been around for so long and it is so embedded in human consciousness that it’s flaws won’t be seen easily. I have talked to many Christians, and they are mostly completely stubborn in their views. And that is understandable to a certain extent since people get told they will burn in hell forever if they change their views.

It often takes something very radical to happen in a religious person’s life before they are willing to look past their limiting views, and even that is no guarantee. Not all religious people are fundamentalists though, and just like there are scientists who have moved away from main stream science, there are religious people who have done the same. These people don’t hold out there point of view as the one and only way, but merely another way. And not surprisingly these people have been condemned by fundamentalists as well. Finally there is pure spirituality.

Science and religion are two extremes. The one is too focused on physical proof, while the other is not focused on it enough. In the middle you have pure spirituality, which takes both science and religion into account, but not in a fanatical way. Spirituality realizes that science is a part of life and that it should be used in the search for meaning. But it does not overestimate what science is capable of. Science is not God itself, and therefor it will never have all the answers. Religion is also honored as a means to search for truth, but dogma is done away with.

Each religion has important truths to it that could be used in the search for God. But in the end neither science nor religion is really necessary to find God. That is because you are God. How would you search for something that you are yourself?! But people get so distracted by outside things like religion and science that it’s almost impossible for them to see the obvious. To even say such a thing is total blasphemy if you are religious. In this way religion is is achieving the opposite of what it set out to achieve, which is to find God. They make the fundamental mistake that God is separate from them, and therefor their search is doomed to fail.

So why is spirituality the easiest path? Spirituality is the easiest path because you are not held back by the obstacles of hard core science and religious fundamentalism. Once you have done this you have made great progress on the spiritual path. You have broken free of all the conditioning that holds millions of people back from making progress. The reason it is the most difficult path is that the biggest obstacle, your ego, must now be dealt with. Religious people and scientists don’t have this difficulty because they haven’t even realize the ego is the problem yet.

They think they are their ego, and therefore have no need to let go of their own self-importance. Scientists think that the ego is all there is. At least religious people believe in the existence of a creator, but they believe that they are separate from their creator. So in a way science and religion haven’t even started on the spiritual path yet. Once you realize that you are not your ego, you can start to remember what you truly are. The ego is everything you define yourself by. It’s your job, your income, your name, your sex, your race, your nationality, etc.

This is not the real you. People think by getting a better job, having more money, more sex, more self importance, will make them more real, when in fact it only serves to strengthen the ego and make them less real. The fact is that when you give up your need to control and be important, you gain more control and become more important. When you stop identifying with the ego, you gain access to infinite power and intelligence. You become infinitely stronger than you could ever be by adding more material things and worldly importance to yourself.

You become one with the field from which all things come, and therefor you can create anything at will. Therefor if you want to be fulfilled your first priority should be to let go of your own ego and own self importance.  Stop trying to control everything and go with the flow. Stop judging things as either good or bad all the time. This will bring you closer to reality. We have all had glimpses of this reality, although we may not have realized it. In this reality you felt at one with all things. This state can also be experienced in the stillness of meditation where thought does not interfere.

Only when the incessant chatter of the mind stops can that ground state where all things arise from be experienced. Long before science started working on a theory of everything did saints and sages know this truth. Ancient wisdom traditions has told us these truths even before religion came along. That was possible because these sages and saints went within to find God. They used yoga or meditation among other things to find enlightenment and the meaning of life. They have all told us that God is not separate from us and that he is to be found within.

We are entering a time now where more and more people are starting to see these truths. We are currently going through a spiritual revolution which will change the world as we know it. There will of course always be the fundamentalists who cling to old beliefs for dear life, but that doesn’t mean that things aren’t changing. Once a critical mass of people have realized their own divinity, this earth will change drastically. Where the ego has caused war, division, greed, lust for power, hate and such things, identifying with the soul will cause mankind to live in love, peace, oneness, equality, beauty and more.

    Thanks for the nice post.
I agree with most of ur points. I am not sure, if u have experienced all the above truths urself, but they are the same as quoted by eckhart tolle and the likes :)
U r right.. science and religion are extreme opposites. If u accept one, then u have to reject the other. Whereas , spirituality accepts everything and rejects nothing. We can also ponder about, the fact that best scientists in this world,,are also very religious. even Einstein agreed, that a few things, could never be explained by science alone.
I just hope, the critical mass reaches soon )

Thank you for writing this. It is so nice to know there are many more people waking up to this and are able to relate to each other.

A spiritual revolution is exactly what mankind needs right now. :D . People can finally realise that we do have it within us to live happyly, equally and peacefully with eachother.

Please keep writing and keep sending out these vibes, maybe that’s the big change that the Mayan’s predicted in Peru.

Please keep writing…I shall keep visiting and will look into Eckhart Toll.

I am so glad I opened this flood gate of the spirituality realm, reading and meeting people who comprehend this helps me keep my sanity and faith.

    Peace n love
