Hi my name is Ru-an and this is my second blog. Spirituality is something that has always fascinated me. I was brought up in a Christian home and went to church every Sunday. I consider myself to be an intelligent person though and there was always some things about the church that didn’t quite make sense to me. For instance the church told me to fear God but at the same time I was told that God was to be loved with all my heart. How could I love someone who wants to be feared? That seemed like a contradiction to me.
These kind of contradictions coupled with a desire to know the the truth is what eventually lead me away from religion. I was never going to be the religious type. Because I went through a personal crisis at a young age I needed real answers, going to church every Sunday for my quick fix wasn’t going to be enough. I had deep questions about the meaning of life. Who am i? What am I doing here? Where do I go when I die? These were all questions questions I needed the answer to an I soon realized religion wasn’t going to give it to me.
Of course these questions that I asked are no easy questions to answer and for most people they don’t get answered, not in this lifetime anyway. If these questions were easy to answer though there would be no mystery to life and it would be too boring. The fun is in solving the mystery. But the mystery won’t solve itself, one needs to make an effort to understand life and keep asking questions. In this blog I will share some of the answers I have found so far on my journey as well as share my experience with you as I go along.
Hopefully this can become a blog that can help people find meaning in a time that often seems devoid of meaning. With wars, the destruction of our planet, and economic strive as just a few of humanity’s problems it’s often difficult to see the meaning behind all of this but I honestly believe there is a reason for all of it, even if we can’t see it now. I believe there is a global shift in consciousness going on that is changing our collective reality for the better, and i hope this blog can play it’s part in assisting that shift taking place, even if it is just a small part.
